We are a music school dedicated to accelerating your journey through music, and have courses structured to your pace – whether you’re an aspiring performer, or a casual music lover who wishes to improve your musical abilities.
Our instructors at Rhythm & Wave are industry professionals, each with over a decade of experience performing on local and international stages. You may even recognise some of us from performances on television, music cafes as well as professional platforms such as the Esplanade Theatre and Concert Hall. Notable performers we have worked with include Stephanie Sun, David Tao, Joey Yung, Wu Jia Hui, Robert Fernando and many others.
This real-world experience is what differentiates our instructors from the rest. We aren’t satisfied with simply teaching you how to sing or play a song perfectly - we will show you how to captivate a live audience, with your music.

MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS
KIM LIM
Kim is a music instructor with many years of experience both teaching and performing as a keyboardist, guitarist and cajonist at Riverside Music Cafe in Taiwan, as well as the Esplanade Theatres and Shuffle Bistro Bar etc.
As a seasoned musician, Kim is often invited to judge competition as well as arrange music for marketing events and short films. Kim is also a frequent performer on radio and television, hence had naturally worked with a number of artistes such as Della Ding Dang, Guo Jing, Wu Jia Hui and Serene Koong on many projects.
LIU ZHI WEN
One of the notables in Singapore’s music scene well-known for his compositions which includes 那英《一笑而过》, Zhi Wen is a highly regarded composer, producer and also a regular judge of countless song-writing compositions.
Zhi Wen also possesses extensive
know-how as a vocal and keyboard
instructor having experience as the vocal coach of local movie Ah Boys to Men, 非常歌手, 明星学院 and Sing-A-Nation, as well as the backing vocalist of renowned singers like Lee Hom, Stefanie Sun, David Tao, Jeff Chang and Joey Yung.
DONNIE CHAN
Donnie started his expedition
back in 2000 as a strum-and-sing
performer in music cafes, pubs
and events along with his double
role as vocal and guitar instructor.
Hugely recognised for his talents, Donnie is a frequent invitee to stage prominent concerts such as Tributes to Leslie Cheung and to Danny Chan held in Esplanade. Not forgetting his debut as the voice behind <I Not Stupid> theme song and recent solo unplugged concert at Livehouse, Donnie is no doubt one of the most versatile veterans of the mandarin and canto-pop scene at present.
WENDY CHIN
With 25 years of experience under her belt, Wendy is a professional performer regularly seen at The Esplanade, MBS Casino, Bala Clava and many other nightspots in Singapore and Malaysia . Clement Chow, Robert Fernando, Anne Weerapass and Kuo Po are some whom she has performed with.
Dubbed one of Singapore’s most talented and prolific singers, Wendy is also hugely recognized for her talent in song-writing having been commissioned and signed to Warner-Chappell. Wendy also does vocal arrangements and is currently penning her own songs to be released in a solo album soon.

DAVID NG
A professional acoustic guitar player and singer with almost 30 years of stage experience, David is a familiar face in the local concert scene, backing local female rocker Wendy Toh, award-winning talent Tanya Chua and international artiste Angela Brown, as well as performing in local venues such as Hard Rock Cafe, Mandarin Hotel, Resorts World, Marina Bay Sands, Esplanade and many more.
David keeps his passion alive by sharing his extensive guitar knowledge with music enthusiasts, as well as being actively involved in studio recordings, arranging, producing and playing for various functions and events.

PROJECT STUDENT BAND
Project Student Band is an initiative by Rhythm & Wave to encourage students who exhibit potential and passion to come together and form student bands with their fellow schoolmates under the guidance of our instructors.
We believe in teaching beyond the classroom, and the necesssity of allowing our students to gain the necessary exposure in working with other musicians as well as performing onstage so as to build self-confidence and enhance their learning experience with us.
To us, learning music is a life-long process that is doubtless fun and involves interactions with the other people who shares the same passion as you as well as actual opportunities to put the skills you have mastered to use and garner real-life experiences as a musician.
We aren’t satisfied with simply teaching you how to sing or play a song perfectly. We want to show you how to captivate a live audience with your music, and how your musical journey should be more than going for classes.
